We were just happy to be out in the lovely weather. As we were walking through Sandy Hill, I’d pause to make a photo or we’d wait to cross the street, look around, take a deep breath, and sigh contentedly. It made for a nice morning and when we lingered inside of the Happy Goat, it felt like a little mini vacation.
It’s actually something we’ve been trying to work into our Saturday adventures: dwell time.
Until recently, we had fallen into a habit of treating everything a bit like a work task or time trial. Far from the adventure we had called it, even on Saturday, we’d go through all of our plans like it was a chore list and make sure to get home promptly.
For what, exactly?
That we had no answer for that was the lightbulb moment for both of us that we would have much more pleasant weekends if we didn’t act the same as if we were on the way home from work during the week.
After all, beautiful, relaxing and pleasant mornings don’t have to be limited to our vacations.
