Although it wasn’t always this way, since I began to visit Toronto more often – around 2014 – I’ve really developed a fondness for the city east of the Don River. Of course, it’s not as if I had bad thoughts about it before: I had just never been.
When I was young and we would drive down during summer vacation, family we visited lived downtown, on McCaul, and since we’d only be in town a day or two before continuing to Guelph, something like The Danforth, Leslieville, or The Beaches weren’t on the schedule.
Carrying through the early bird theme from earlier in the day, Kathleen and I decided The Wren 🐦⬛ on Danforth was calling us for dinner, a place we had visited a number of times before and have never failed to enjoy.
