For the little bit of shopping, we didn’t have any definite plans, so we allowed the neighbourhood’s sights and sounds to bring us in. One of the earlier stops was Motif, a shop with a lil’ mix of everything. I might have purchased a pair of smiling sunshine earrings ☀️

After that, we continued our little walk down the street. It was time for lunch, and the thought of some tofu banh mi 🥪 from BanhMiYes was a good one. As the day continued to be lovely, instead of eating our sandwiches inside the restaurant, we decided to take them to go and enjoy them in the nearby McCormick Park.

It also didn’t escape our awareness that we were very close indeed to Moo Shu ice cream, where we — of course — stopped in for a cone 🍦: mango sticky rice for me and strawberry cheesecake for Kathleen.

And can yooooooooouuuuuuu believe it? We still weren’t finished. Kathleen wanted to go on to a nearby thrift shop in search of a dress to work from for her outfit for the Black Swan Ball, which is coming up in November.¹ For what is possibly the first time at that shop, she found something and for a good price too!

All-in-all, it was just a lovely traditional weekend adventure for us!

1. As for me? Oh, we’re going together, but for one reason or another, it’s just not in me to plan an outfit that far in advance. I’ll have to choose something closer-to. ↩︎
