My spirits buoyed by a donut1, I returned to my hotel room for more film and to change lenses from the 85mm I had been using to a lighter and more standard 50mm one and to have a little reset before meeting my sister at Little Canada for 11.
What’s Little Canada? It’s basically, well, Canada in miniature! Undeniably cheesy and undeniably a tourist sort of thing, and undeniably a whole lot of fun!
And what’s more is that they keep adding to it!
This is my second time visiting and since Kathleen and I had passed through they added one more region: the arctic. Filled with as much whimsy and easter eggs are the rest of the regions, they even had the audacity to make the arctic exhibit several degrees colder than the others.
All-in-all, we spent two hours finding the easter eggs (literal and figurative), references, and Maurice the Moose, a formal game where you spot a moose that looks like the Canadian flag and get a sticker at the end of the tour. I think it’s somewhere at the bottom of my purse now and lost to the ages. At least until I change purses, anyway.
…and now for a little break at Ethica ☺️ Orange latte for me, and an iced strawberry matcha for my sister, Anna-Lisa* (*Not pictured because I respect her wishes)

Afterward, we decided to head west. I needed some coffee for home and while I normally order in Detour from Hamilton, a friend of mine had strongly recommended Ethica, whose cafe is located on Stirling. Of course, we had to stop and enjoy a nice hot beverage too: I had an orange oat latte and my sister an iced strawberry matcha latte.
