I will admit freely that I don’t really know how to identify “peak fall” most years. Depending on the weather leading up to the fall months, the leaves may turn colours at different times, leaving a real mish-mash ranging from July-grade green to wintry bare branches, all in the same yard.

Still, last Sunday, while rummaging around in my mind for something to express that while there is no sun in the forecast, the amount of bright orange in the neighbourhood made it feel like …peak fall, I loaded a roll of Portra 400 and Kathleen and I headed out on a kitty food mission and a few errands.

As the weather has been getting cooler, we’ve also wanted warmer meals. To keep us nice and warm, that evening’s meal was to be a nice lentil and spinach curry.
