Charlotte Makes Photos

A girl and her cameras πŸ’œ

…I finished my first roll once I got to the corner of Powell and Cambridge S, right where Hogan’s is planted on the northeast corner. There’s often a bit of vulnerability to me standing there changing over rolls. It seems to draw even more attention to me and people often seem somewhat suspicious as to what I am doing.

Not that it’s enough to stop me, but I will always find it somewhat interesting that people can get suspicious over someone changing a roll of film β€” as if I am some sort of spy (?) β€” but don’t seem to blink an eye when people are streaming everything they see full time.

No matter, once I made my way through the Glebe and into the Annex and Little Italy, the number of trees is reduced considerably. This doesn’t mean that there aren’t any Fall colours about, but it takes on a different characteristic.

I decided to walk down Beech street with, what it seemed, was half the city. Seeing the crowds outside of DiRienzo, I remembered that a night or two before, it was reported that their lot was up for sale and people wanted a visit, perhaps for one more sandwich. In more omnivorous days, I know I was a fan. The combination of being delicious and (then) $3 helped keep me filled up as a student who was living nearby.

After being waved down by a nice woman and her sister to make a photo of them outside the shop (so she could show her son that she visited), I continued on through Little Italy and into Hintonburg. …where I stopped in, of course, at Spaniel’s Tale and might have availed myself two more books.

Books in bag, I then made my way to Parkdale Market and Vegans Who Snack where I found a tasty selection to bring home for Kathleen and I to share ☺️
