It’s lovely that they’ve been popping up on weekends. However cloudy and rainy this Fall has been so far, Saturdays have somehow been sunny. I’m not complaining! It’s a small blessing that I receive with gratitude and enthusiasm.
This past Saturday, Kathleen and I decided on a short walk to the Glebe. I didn’t have any specific reason for suggesting it, but it would allow us to have a nice hot beverage, browse the racks at a vintage store or two, and perhaps inspect the shelves at Octopus Books to see what might follow us home. 😈
It turns out that I was definitely in the mood for books and so was Kathleen. I ended up with copies of Ignore All Previous Instructions (Ada Hoffmann), The Tin Flute (Gabrielle Roy), and The Politics of Lonely (Lee Arden) and Kathleen was followed home by a nice book of strength-building exercises and an Ontario birder’s checklist/notebook. Although we aren’t capital-B Birders, like all wildlife, we find them magical and would like a nice paper way to identify them.

Aside from the lovely time, since it was a long weekend, we were happy to just sort of dig in a little and nest. Since we had no idea what to make for dinner, we did the now-rare thing and order from Wei’s, which we would have while we watched an episode of Cassie Workman is Witchy AF.
