A girl and her cameras 💜

I think I’m officially in the camp of finding repackaged film a bit of an annoyance. It seems to have happened slowly and then all at once, but with this roll of Rollei RPX 25 coming out of the tank overcooked… I don’t know. I’m finding it annoying.

Consulting the Big Film Database, it turns out that this is yet another repackaged version of Agfa Aviphot 801, which is a fine film in its own right, but it’s neither really a 25, nor does it act like the Agfa APX 25 it seems to be aping.

I have two rolls of it left and will treat it as it is (Aviphot 80) and along with Mic-X, hopefully gain access to a whole lot more midtone than I did here.

  1. Rollei RPX 25, Rollei Retro 80S, and while adapted from it somewhat by “pre-flashing” it (preserves some midtone availability at the cost of speed), Adox HR-50 and probably the Leica Mono film too. ↩︎
