Charlotte Makes Photos

A girl and her cameras 💜

Just before I put regular life on pause for surgery at the beginning of June, the very nice woman who maintains my unruly Eastern European eyebrows let me know that she would be moving on to another salon and would let me know where once she joined a new team.

Kanata.

In the end, it was Kanata.

*sigh*

Okay, well I did commit to follow her to wherever she went since she’s fantastic: I like her work and we get along really well and, like any good tradesperson, a brow tech who can work with my trans self1 isn’t that easy to find.

So it was to Kanata I would go.

One train.

Two buses.

(Nearly) two hours.

In the end, however, I got my face back, had a lovely session, and caught up with a very nice human indeed.

When I faced the lengthy and punitive trip between my apartment downtown and the west side of a far-flung suburb, I had intended to say that I’d really love to keep it up, but — ugh — the trip.

As soon as I was back to rights, though, I knew that it would be worse to find a new skilled and not-awkward brow tech than a periodic bus trip to Kanata and back, so while I didn’t commit to a scheduled regular set of appointments like I previously did, I did commit to book appointments on an as-needed basis.

Perhaps as time goes on, I will develop a bit more of an eye for suburban photography. Thursday was not that day, however.
