Although I physically work in Ottawa, my place of employment is actually on the Québec side of the river and for most purposes (including taxation), I am employed in that province. Outside of a usually larger tax return (since I reside in Ontario), I also get La Fête nationale du Québec off of work. It’s not an extra day, really. Nearly every other province has the Civic Holiday weekend off, while we do not.

While I will be off of work and recovering from surgery this summer from June 16th until Labour Day in September, I was recently thinking of some of the nice long photo walks I have taken on this day off, including those above, which I made on long-expired Kodak Plus-X.
