Lottie Dreams of Spring (2020 ed.)

Written by

Since we’re now fully into “The Forecast Teases Charlotte” season, I have been spending a little of my downtime daydreaming about the arrival of Spring.

The real Spring, I mean. Not the series of false Springs that we tend to get until mid-April and sometimes further.

While thinking about it, I remembered a long walk Kathleen and I took during the earlier days of COVID, from our apartment just off Elgin to Holland and back again.

I had just received a Minolta SR-T 101 with three lenses – a 28mm f/3.5, a 58mm f/1.4, and a 200mm f/3.5 – and I wanted to give the camera and lenses a good try-out.

The photos above were made using the 58mm f/1.4 lens, which I instantly fell in love with and still consider it to be the single favourite lens I own.
