Saturday’s adventure was a bit of a traditional one for us: a trip to Fabrications and a nice lunch out somewhere along Wellington West or Richmond.

Not that we ever need an excuse to visit Fabrications, but Kathleen’s current project is a baby blanket for a friend who is currently expecting her first. Not the *really* a project for stash-busting.

What’s fun is that the fabric selection went rather smoothly in spite of there being ten fabrics to select. It turns out that having a nursery colour scheme and theme helps sharpen even the most traditionally indecisive mind!

Supplies in backpack, we made our way up to Richmond so that we could take a bus back further east. Lunch would be to give the vegan options at Gburger a try.

The last time we had their burgers was during the pandemic, just after they had opened on Elgin street, and quite liked them. We were omnivorous at that time, so alternatives weren’t really something we considered.

I was recently informed by a friend that they had good vegan options and noting that they had recently closed their Elgin location and opened up a location just east of Island Park, we took the opportunity. We both very much enjoyed our meals and will definitely be back when we’re in the area again.

Photographically, one thing I did not intend to do was use the 28mm Rokkor, but with the cap on, at a glance, it looks very similar to the 58mm I intended to and, by the time I noticed that I left it mounted from a roll I made last week, it was too late. We were on our way to the bus.

I think I would have been happier with a longer lens on this little adventure, but I was able to get a few photos that I would have been unlikely to without it. Swings and roundabouts.
