Gosh! Fall is usually when I get a bit more photographic wind in my sails, but so far this year, its mostly doldrums. Neither the excitement of slide nor the wholesome delight of pumpkins have conjured much more than a light breeze.
This past Sunday, we took a little walk through Sandy Hill to enjoy the sunny weather and otherwise pick up some groceries for the remainder of the long weekend. While we enjoyed our little walky-boo, it was infrequent that I found myself entirely moved to compose something and commit it.
And wouldn’t you know it, the results show it!
I was stopped at one point by a woman who asked me if I was “a real witch”. Since I am not, I responded, “no, I just like the style” and smiled. She almost seemed relieved and carried on her way.
While people seem to delight in the witch-like grey wool hat I’ve been wearing this fall, this is the first time I’ve ever been asked by someone if I was, in fact, a witch!
Perhaps this coming weekend’s little trip out to Rockcliffe Park for our annual fall walk through Pine Hill will be inspiring.
It’s supposed to be overcast and we’ll be on the lookout for fall textures.
