One of the goals was to bring my mom to the Hydrostone. Mainly because it’s a cute neighbourhood with an interesting history and because it’s home to L.K. Yarns. For many years, it was rare to see my mom without knitting needles in hand and she has been looking to pick up the needles once again. As one of the many fibrous arts, Kathleen also knits, which is why we were familiar!

We were quite hungry when we first arrived. Breakfast was long gone from our tummies and having walked a fairly long way, the rumbling was nearly audible! Kathleen’s mom had long recommended Salvatore’s for their pizza and this was just the occasion. Since I’m not a food reviewer, I’ll just say that the was delicious and the service was quite good.

Once lunch was finished, we perused the yarn and a few other shops before deciding to head back toward the downtown to board the ferry back to Dartmouth, drop my mom off at her condo, and return to our place for a rest.
