We knew it would be chilly. It was about -12C (-19C with the wind chill). Sure, we dressed for the occasion, and sure, we were emotionally prepared. But the cold sure took a bite!

At least the goal was an easy one: focaccia from Bread By Us, and a few other groceries for home. If the spirit moved us, perhaps a little toodle through the thrift shop. Who knows what sorts of books, DVDs, and dare I say, film cameras in dubious states of function we’d find?

The first two were accomplished quickly. Afterall, there was no motivation to linger between shops with my hands quickly going numb and Kathleen beginning to resemble a cherry Popsicle. In light of this, the spirit only moved us to board the next 11 Parliament opposite The Spaniel’s Tale and not walk any further down the street!

Unfortunately, I’m beginning to think that the metering in the Pentax K2 is becoming a little less reliable. With somewhat similar temperatures and the same bright light last Saturday, the Nikkormat EL performed admirably, with even exposure across the roll. The K2, on the other hand, seems to have given me shutter speeds that were a touch fast at times, resulting in a bit of underexposure.
