It gets a little samey: every Tuesday afternoon is when I have my regular electrolysis appointment1 and every Tuesday afternoon — whether I am coming from home or coming from the office — it’s a walk south from Centretown or Downtown to one of the 85 stops on Catherine Street.
Of course, this blog is named Charlotte Makes Photos for a reason: it’s what I do and I am only in so much control as to whether or not I do. It’s my main hobby, but it’s so much more than that to me and I don’t feel the same if I don’t.
This means that I am often searching for new photos in familiar places.
This past Tuesday, I decided that a longer lens would accompany me to the office across from the late Westgate Mall. While I didn’t see too many opportunities while there (the light is wrong at that time of day for the views I find interesting), I was clearly inspired by the lot that is home to the Tiffany Apartments (1955?) and Elgin Square Apartments (1969?).
If you’re wondering what that case is in the last photo is: it’s a typewriter. While it does get some use, thanks to Martha being able to open the hobby closet, we place the heavy thing over the track of the sliding door to keep her out of it. Neither of us need her in there throwing fabric around or camera lenses, which is something she would do. A little menace.

- So long as I keep it up and so long as my hair cycle is what it appears to be, this will no longer be the case in one year. I look forward to this all being finished. ⚡️ ↩︎
