More Than I Imagined (Part 2)

Following our little excursion to Saint-Henri Books, it was time for us to make our way over to where Kathleen’s friend lives so that we could meet up and spend a little time visiting.

Since their dog needed a walk (and to socialize with new monkeys), we went on a lovely walk along the Lachine Canal, which is very popular. The weather was quite nice and everyone seemed rather happy to be under the mostly-sunny skies.

While I’m mostly a bit nervous around strange dogs (hi mom!), the trick with this dog was to just pretend that he’s not there and he will do the same, which suited me just fine. Kathleen, who loves dogs, had to exercise a little more self-control.

Following the nice walk, we returned to see their place (which they purchased quite a while ago, but we hadn’t been to Montréal since her and her partner married three years ago, so hadn’t seen it), and to proceed to dinner. We’re lucky enough to have a friend in cities we visit whose restaurant recommendations are unassailable. We’ve never been disappointed. That was as true in the past as it is in the present, and our meals at Sumac on Notre Dame were wonderful.

After dinner, we were walked back to the metro station and we headed back to the hotel. The next day would be colder and rainy, so Kathleen and I would choose a more indoor sort of adventure. After that? Surgery prep!

Note: This is the last of the photos I made while away in Montréal. Since our return on June 22, I have exposed one roll of film and will develop it soon.
