The End of Colour (for a) Season

·

,

Between the (literal, not metaphorical) clouds gathering and imminent trip to Montréal, I won’t be developing any more colour until later in the summer. More accurately, save for one or two black-and-white rolls, I won’t be developing any more film at all until later in the summer.

I haven’t even decided exactly what (and how often) I intend to post here as I’m healing from surgery, but I’m sure that there will be on-this-days with existing scans and perhaps even a little bit of past digital until I am able to stand in front of the sink and invert a tank once again. I won’t be allowed to lift more than 10 pounds until mid-August, so that rules colour out until then …unless Kathleen helps! ☺️

In the case of this roll, I came down with a case of “should I?” after seeing how positively thin the negatives were for the roll of ColorPlus before this. Caught between the desire not to risk wasting a roll vs. just getting it all over with (and being reasonably pleased with the scans – save for the telltale white “dandruff”), after having rewound the roll at the end of Monday, I decided on Tuesday that, no, I’d just finish it off.

Thin again. Not a great way to begin my development break, but at least I won’t have any backlog except for the photos I make in Montréal. When I’m back to developing colour again in mid-August, it will be with a fresh C-41 kit and some very very itchy feet (metaphorical, not literal)!
