A Little Mid-Week Pushy-Boo For FP4+

Written by

On Wednesday after work, I decided to take a little stroll down Bank Street to pick up a few things, such as a case for my new phone and a more substantial key chain to make rummaging around my purse for my keys easier.

It’s not all that often that a walk down Bank isn’t for the cats, so passing through without having to lug a bunch of cans was rather welcome!

Camera around my neck, instead of lamenting this November’s near-sunless conditions, I decided to see how I would get along with Ilford FP4+ (one of my favourite black and white films), but pushed two stops to 500.

I don’t hate it!

While I’m not normally one for big contrast in my photos (preferring something that looks more ’40s or ’50s in spirit to bigger contrast that seemed popular in the ’70s or ’80s), I think compensating for this fall’s flat and dull conditions has called for it.
