Vacation Time: Atlantic Adventures, September 16, 2024

Written by

Admittedly, our little toodle around Halifax on that day wasn’t entirely eventful. We were a little unprepared for the heat and sun1, causing us to keep ourselves on the shady sides of the street where it was possible.

There was one list item we (finally) took care of that day, however. When Kathleen was working on her undergrad at King’s years ago, her lunch hangout was Star Anise Vietnamese Noodles on Barrington.

She had wanted to take me there for a meal since the first time we visited Halifax together in 2017, but the stars (anise) were just never able to align. We were either around off hours, they were closed for renovations, closed for family vacation, etc. Noodles for us!

This time was different though. And it was pretty darn tasty!

  1. Not the swampy high summer heat of Ontario, but warmer and stickier than we were expecting on a September day in Halifax: it reached a high of 29C (84F) with the humidity. ↩︎
