Warm Enough To Meter

Written by

What was so special about Monday is that, at 14℃ and just overcast, it was warm enough for me to bring the Mamiya outside to make photos!

Following a bit of disappointment with the Reflx Lab cold shoe meter (accuracy, battery life, a lack of ⅓ stop increments) I reverted to using the Light Meter app on my phone for these purposes.

Unfortunately, getting it out of my purse, unlocking it, and taking a reading during the cold season is very much not a pleasant experience during the colder seasons. My cold, slow, and Raynaud’ed hands do not appreciate being used in these circumstances, so all winter long, I rely exclusively on cameras that have a meter on board.

Or, occasionally, those with no real options at all.

I just love Acros II in 120 and look forward to making more photos on it!
