Lacks Focus, Discipline (2022)

Written by

The third (and last) Leica I ever used was also the oldest camera to take 35mm film I have ever used: a Leica I Model C (“Leica 1C”) from around 1931.

While I didn’t exactly find it in myself to nail focus (and my framing was off in most cases), I don’t remember feeling all that badly about it when I saw the results: the novelty of using such an early camera to photos on 35mm film was enough for me!

It was also around this time that I began to drift away from the camera shop that was lending me the cameras. Between uneven and regularly-changing hours and my departure from Instagram (the only way they really communicate), I found that other places ended up serving my needs better.
