Such a grand title for such a little thing.
But also a big thing.
Our appointment at the piercing studio was for the middle of the afternoon on the 21st, so we had plenty of time in the morning to have a little adventure walk. Gone was the sunny skies of our arrival, replaced by some heavy overcast and high humidity. Not exactly the most comfortable weather we had, but we both knew it could have been much worse.
As for the piercings? They were nothing unexpected and the experience was lovely.
The skies didn’t open up, I didn’t hear the feint sound of harps or a children’s choir somewhere in the distance.
Even though piercings are for everyone, I still consider getting them the first baby steps in my physical transition, and were for me a very momentous occasion. Walking out, I was practically vibrating.
As for the lesson in exposure?
Fomapan 400 is only a 400 ISO film when certain developers are used. Under most circumstances, its speed is closer to 250 or maybe 320. In other words, in most (?) developers, it loses ⅓ to ⅔ a stop of speed, which you need to compensate for.
Unfortunately, I was not aware of this before our little trip, so when I received my negatives back from the lab, the frames were thin. The scans above, made earlier this week, are the best I am able to get out of this roll.
