Since the weather continues to be uncooperative in supporting my dearest of hobbies and, even when the weather is lovely, my schedule is also not supportive, we have another on-this-day post!
One year ago today, I was out and about with my first roll of Foma’s Ortho 400, the speed a rarity in the (small) world of orthochromatic films. I nearly always enjoy the results I get from these films. And nearly always pledge to use them again (especially in fall). And nearly always forget to purchase.
Still, since this film has very little sensitivity to reds and certain shades of orange, they end up rendering more darkly in the resulting photo. If nothing else, it makes the season’s jack-o-lanterns and bright red leaves much spookier!
I have two rolls of Ilford’s Ortho+ (80 ISO) in the fridge now, but this year has had too many competing priorities (such as colour, both slide and negative, and a shelf of now-aging colour chemistry) and too little sunlight.
