It is a significant improvement, but not a solution. As you might have seen in two previous posts, I’ve been having trouble with Flic Film’s C-41 “Eco” kit.

Chatting back and forth with some kind people on Bluesky, it seems like this particular kit can be a little fussy with a few oddball emulsions like, *ahem*, Kodak Aerocolor IV, or Harman Phoenix. In order to see whether my struggles with this development kit were a limited to film choice, I decided to load a roll of their Aurora 400, which seems to be a more standard 400-speed film.

As for the results?

Better!

But still not great.

When I pulled the film from the tank, a quick inspection was promising. Gone were the mottled pale peach and deep orange film base, and it looked quite normal. When I came to scan it on the other hand, well, I still ended up with a number of frames green discoluration.

I gave this combination one more attempt today and will see if things are entirely normal once I scan those negatives.

Either way, I have ordered another one of the “Pro” kits, which I have had much better success with.
