While still quite warm (and still getting over some mystery bug I may have shared), yesterday was a lovely day to be out an about.

Kathleen and I decided to pay a visit a Queer Market at the Next Door Event Space at the edge of Hintonburg. After seemingly everywhere else having had their Pride weeks/weekends gone by, we’ve been getting a bit antsy for our own, so it was quite welcome!

Why the dumb Simpsons-referencing title?

Because of the pretty major and noticeable development error!

This was the first time I’ve used Flic Film’s C-41 eco kit to develop colour film. I also chose to develop their Elektra film, which is re-spooled Kodak Aerocolor IV. While in the development phase, I second-guessed myself at the inversion timing, lost the plot at some point, and – long story short- when I pulled the film from the tank, I was greeted by a splotchy orange-and-peach base.

While I’ve never developed Aerocolor before, I’ve exposed it in the past and was expected a transparent base.

While there is something fun about the results, it’s certainly not what I was expecting or hoping for. I have another roll to try, so we’ll see what happens next!
