I probably lament the weather in one way or another too often on this website, really. So I will just say that once yesterday morning’s rain stopped, Kathleen and I took our opportunity to get out into the heavy overcast weather to run a few errands.

And of course, being me, that meant a camera with some film. Since I wasn’t sure if we were truly in the clear, I opted for my least expensive working camera: a plastic fantastic Canon EOS Rebel G (known as the Kiss in Japan), a consumer SLR released in 1996 that I paid an entire $12 for in 2021. A roll of HP5+ called from the fridge and to give myself a little more flexibility in low light, I’d also give it a little pushy-boo to 1600.

Heavy overcast and growing humidity aren’t the most inspiring of conditions for me, so most of the roll was “making photos for the sake of making photos”. That is, until we came across two young bunnies between two apartments on Lisgar Street. At first they were just crouched on the paving stones, but almost immediately decided that it was time to do a little roughhousing!

It was far too cute, and a great way to use the last five frames on the roll.
