With that morning’s photographic misstep in mind, when I loaded a new roll on that roasty-toasty corner, I double- triple-checked that the camera was properly set for the film speed and that it was on ‘1x’ (normal). Having run out of Ottawa Street, we boarded the Barton bus back to the downtown.
Following a leisurely walk back down James Street toward King, I started feeling unwell again. We decided to return to the hotel for a little to rest and see if I could shake it off. A bit inconvenient to have that happen on a vacation – and on such a nice day too!
Eventually, I began to come back around and we were ready to enjoy some dinner. While out walking earlier, we passed a restaurant called the Electric Diner. With the whole ’80s-does-’50s neon diner thing going on, it seemed pretty fun.
(It was quite tasty!)

Hamilton also took the brunt of my development errors it seems.1
I decided on HC-110 dilution B for this roll. Not for any strong reason: I had it on my shelf and in the Massive Development Chart (MDC) app, it appeared to be a relatively short development time at 6:30 (5:45 at the 21.5C the room temperature was).
When I pulled it out of the tank, however, it was really thin.
When I opened the box, I noticed that the manufacturer recommends 10 minutes. This was the first time I’ve had MDC and box disagree, with the MDC being incorrect! I tried to tease out as much as I could in scanning, but even the scanner can’t see what isn’t there, so the muddy and incomplete results above were my gift.
Kathleen has been blogging about our vacation too!

- The next two rolls also betray Steeltown. In this case, you’ve seen the results already for Toronto with one “lesson in D-96” and one “T-Max Developer is hard (if you’re uninitiated)”. ↩︎
