One of our little “projects” for this year’s trip to Toronto was to shift our waking hours forward a little. As two natural early birds, our day-to-day is a bit of an early-to-bed/early-to-rise sort of affair. Although this works well for a public servant’s seven-to-three life, this does not work well when on vacation. We might still get the worm, but we don’t get open businesses, events, or attractions that way!

We arrived in our favouritest-of-favourite cities late Saturday afternoon. The noon-hour train was really a treat. It was quiet, not crowded, and the cheese plate delicious. The earlier trains seem to be busier, louder, and sometimes the snack cart gets a little thin.

After checking into our hotel just behind city hall, as has become tradition, we headed toward Bathurst and College for a big plate of nachos at Sneaky Dee’s. We’ve done the science and the evidence leads to one conclusion: it really is the best way for us to begin our vacation!

Kathleen has also been blogging about our vacation!
