Thursday’s sun was short-lived. This was expected, as we are in the throes of ‘False Spring’, one of many we’re entreated to annually, usually between mid-March and mid-April. One day will be sunny and unseasonally warm, followed by a blizzard the next.
As a sort of transition day, Friday was overcast and by the afternoon a bitter wind was making its presence known. As if to really stress that it was false spring we had enjoyed, the forecast called for a whole lot of snow and other wet freezing misery to descend upon us. It would have been a perfect day to welcome the weekend by shutting down the work laptop and getting into pyjamas.
But the cats needed food.
So out I went, bundled up a little more than I had been for the past week. I can’t leave the house without a camera (I’m in deep), so I loaded a roll of Delta 400 into a Nikkormat, and headed to the store to get them the nutrition they so need.
And Charles would have eaten me alive on my return.
So there was motivation.
Fridays are also when Kathleen and I order pizza. It started during the pandemic and we just …continued on with this tradition. While we normally order from Pizza Nerds or sometimes Lil’ Z’s, we looked around and found out that in addition to brewing some very tasty beer, Spark also makes pizza!
Delicious pizza. And they make an east coast donair dip that Kathleen quickly declared superior. We will definitely be ordering again!
