After waiting long enough, Kathleen and I decided that Saturday would be the day to fulfill the long-promised boot mission and head to the Bayshore Shopping Centre.
…and thanks to a certain retailer’s insistence on having what must be the world’s smallest footwear section, the mission was not a success. Can’t a doll with a little more to accommodate find a place to buy a lil’ cuteness in person?
No.
Apparently, the answer is no.
(At least not since Payless left the Canadian market in 2019, anyway.)
So if I was going to face disappointment finding something cute for my feet, I’d at least have an opportunity to make a few traditional 1960s-like suburban photos of an early-to-mid 1960s neighbourhood whose look-and-feel remains very much of its time.
The film lesson?
I think I am going to have to give my development tank a good scrub. I’ve been getting more bubbles lately when developing 120 film and I can’t think of too many reasons for it when my process involves little air in the tank, gentle inversions, and tapping after each.
