Kathleen and I are big fans of the Ottawa Art Gallery and visit at least a few times per year. Since opening their new facility a few years back, they’ve really been on a roll with well-curated exhibits. Admittedly, it doesn’t hurt that it’s close by!
After deciding that we’re weren’t feeling entirely spendy (okay, I wasn’t feeling spendy), we abandoned plans to visit Bayshore on a boot-buying mission and instead appreciate a little art.
The Gallery’s fourth floor space was closed for the installation of a new exhibit, so we headed to the third floor to see Stories My Father Couldn’t Tell Me: Jeff Thomas Origin, which was really well put together and quite resonant.
As far as photos? When the day’s adventure is mostly indoors, I like to either use a fast film, or give a 400-speed film a bit of a push. I probably could have pushed to 800 instead of 1600 yesterday. Not only did the sun make a bit of an appearance, but I was more frequently moved to release the shutter in the gallery’s more open areas, which had me at the camera’s maximum shutter speed too often for comfort!
