Wednesday was a day for hair. And because of this, a day for photos, since my appointment time left me with nearly an hour. Fortunately, it was also quite bright! I decided it would be fun to take a leisurely (if cold) walk from Pimisi Station.

It’s not all that often I spend time making photos of the area around Nanny Goat Hill, but with about 45 minutes to spend, it seemed like there were some possibilities.

And it seems that it would not be one of these posts without at least a little “Lesson for Lottie”.

I’ve really been pushing it with the current bottle of fixer. It has fourteen rolls on its resume and should have retired a while ago. I probably skipped right past the proverbial canary because I was using traditional grained film, but t-grain films need a bit more …certainty when fixing.

So then, when I pulled this roll of T-Max from the tank, while it sure was pictures, it looked as if the film was quite fogged. Given that it was fresh film that probably hasn’t seen an airport, this didn’t make a whole lot of sense.

Then looking askance at my fixer bottle, with its fourteen sharpie’d slashes, I knew that the culprit would reveal herself in the mirror.

…at least she had fabulous hair!
