Sun’s out, fun’s out! For the most part. While we’re hardly into any sort of winter deep freeze yet, neither Kathleen nor myself are yet acclimatized, so yesterday morning’s -10C (-15C with the wind chill) was rather …brisk.
We also hadn’t come up with a longer Saturday Adventure, so it was to the Rideau Centre for us. In light of the chilly weather, we decided on a little loop through Sandy Hill, but with no specific route in mind (“wherever my lens takes us!”).
Our goal at the mall? To purchase a Lego set. We decided this year that we weren’t going to bother with gifts to each other (having already worked our way down to stockings, it was an easy decision), but rather, we would share a fun activity on Christmas morning instead.
Now, if you know us, you know we’re basically joined at the hip anyway, but while our usual hobbies (photography, sewing) are enjoyed in the same space, they’re, in general, enjoyed solo. In coming up with ideas, Kathleen suggested either a puzzle or a Lego set, and it was quickly clear that the latter would be the winner. With a Lego Store and an Imaginaire so near by, we’re quite spoiled for choice.
And our choice? Main Street! Aside from it being non-IP, large enough to keep us occupied, and flexible, it’s also just a little queer-coded in all the best ways and even reminded us of the Kids in the Hall Steps bits. A perfect little way to spend Christmas morning in this queer lil’ household!
