On Saturday, we decided that a different sort of adventure than we’ve been going on was necessary. Looking at what was coming up at the National Gallery, Kathleen noticed that there was an exhibit coming up called Woven Histories: Textiles and Modern Abstraction. Being a devotee of the many and sundry fibrous arts, an exhibit of arts in that medium was an automatic yes.

It was a fascinating exhibit. While I am completely uninitiated on the topic, the works were compelling. I especially found Carole Frances Lung’s Frau Fiber vs. The Machine striking. Kathleen and I lingered to watch for quite some time!

No visit to the National Gallery would be complete, of course, without stopping by Voice of Fire and the Rideau Street Chapel.
