Does the sunlight ever slip away in November. When I headed out for a new COVID vaccine after work at 3, it was fairly bright and sunny (though the clouds were gathering) and if the appointment were on time, I expected to have enough light for the short roll of Ilford FP4+ I loaded earlier in the afternoon.
It turns out that: (a) the vaccine is once again popular, so there were more people and a bit of a delay; (b) the clouds decided to crash the early afternoon party; and (c) the sun, not liking the new guests, would quickly back away.
Lesson? At this time of year, I can use a medium-speed film *or* a longer lens, but both are risky business. Of the 25 frames, easily more than half had shake and the aperture was always either 2.8 or 4. Still, the actual feel of the light is what I wanted!
